Australian Open: Paes & Hingis enter quarter-final of Mixed Doubles

In Australia Open Tennis, Leander Paes and his Swiss partner Martina Hingis today sailed into the quarterfinals of the Mixed Doubles. The Indo-Swiss pair defeated Australian duo of Casey Dellacqua and Matt Reid 6-2, 6-3 in the Round of 16 clash in Melbourne. In other matches today, Serena Williams kept up her pursuit of a record Grand Slam title as she reached the Australian Open Quarter-finals without dropping a set. Ninth seed Johanna Konta blasted into her second Australian Open quarter-final today, setting up a clash with Serena Williams. The other two women singles quarter finalists were Mirjana Lucic-Baroni and Karolina Pliskova. In Men's singles, ninth seed Rafael Nadal fought back to beat Frenchman Gael Monfils over four sets to reach his first Grand Slam Quarter-final since 2015. He will play Canada's world number three Milos Raonic next. Other men's singles quarter-finalists today were Grigor Dimitrov and David Goffin. In Men's Doubles, American duo Bob and Mike Bryan also made it to the quarter-finals.Sania Mirza partnering Barbora Strycova of Czech Republic, lost to Japanese E.Hozumi and M.Kzato in a third round women's double match. However, in mixed doubles, Sania Mirza and Croatia's Ivan Dodig will play in the second round. Rohan Bopanna with his team mate will also play mixed doubles' last 16 game.
