World number one Novak Djokovic has lifted the Men's singles trophy of the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the season. He beat sixth placed Andy Murray. Earlier, Leander Peas and his Swiss teammate Martina Hingis won the Mixed Doubles of the Australian Open. The seventh seeded pair defeated the higher placed Canadian-French team of Daniel Nestor and Kristina Mladenovic, in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.Serena Williams bagged the Women's Singles title for the sixth time yesterday. The world number one American had defeated second seeded Russian Maria Sharapova, 6-3, 7-6. It was Serena's 19th Grand Slam title.
