In Australian Open Tennis, India's Rohan Bopanna and his partner from Chinese Taipei, Su-Wei Hsieh today crashed out of the Mixed Doubles category. In the quarterfinals, Bopanna and Hsieh lost to the Polish-Czech combination of Marcin Matkowski and Kveta Peschke, 2-6, 3-6. Tomorrow, the second seeded Indo-American duo of Sania Mirza and Bob Bryan will lock horns with the Czech pair of Lucie Hradecka and Frantisek Cermak for a Mixed Doubles semi-final berth.Meanwhile, in the Men's Singles, World Number Two Roger Federer of Switzerland and Briton Andy Murray today booked the remaining two semi-final slots. They will play against each other for a finals berth. In the quarterfinals today, while Federer edged past Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in a five set game, 7-6, 4-6, 7-6, 3-6, 6-3; Murray defeated Jeremy Chardy of France, 6-4, 6-1, 6-2. In the first semi-final tomorrow, World Number One Noval Djokovic will take on Spaniard David Ferrer.In the Women's Singles, World Number One Victoria Azarenka of Belarus stormed into the semi-finals today, as she beat Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova, 7-5, 6-1. However, third seeded American Serena Williams made a shock exit from the tournament, after fellow American Sloane Stephens stunned her with a 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 victory. In the semi-finals tomorrow, Azarenka will clash with Sloane Stephens, while World Number Two Russian Maria Sharapova will meet Na Li of China.
