Australian Open : Bhupathi-Petrova enter 2nd round of mixed doubles

India's Mahesh Bhupathi and his Russian partner Nadia Petrva entered the pre-quarterfinals of the Mixed Doubles event at the Australian Open Tennis on Sunday.The fifth seeded Indo-Russian pair defeated Jean-Julien Rojer of the Netherlands and his Aussie partner Anastasia Rodionova, 6-4 6-2 in their opening round match.Bhupathi joined three more compatriots in the Mixed Doubles pre-quarter finals. India's Sania Mirza, Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna, with their respective partners, have already advanced into the next round in this category.In the women's singles, Maria Sharapova set a new Australian Open record in losing just five games enroute to the quarter-finals. The second seeded Russian defeated unseeded Belgian Kirsten Flipkens 6-1, 6-0 on Sunday. She will meet compatriot Ekaterina Makarova in the next round.
