After dismissing Zimbabwe for 162, New Zealand surpassed the winning target of 163 by making 166 in 33.3 overs without losing a wicket. In the group 'B' fixture at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, West Indies beat co-hosts Bangladesh by nine wickets. They shot out Bangladesh for a paltry 58, which was the fourth lowest in World Cup history. The winners then completed the formalities in only 12.2 overs. The total duration of the match was only 31.1 overs.
