At Melbourne on Saturday, Australia posted a mammoth first innings score of 530 runs against India in the third Cricket Test. Captain Steve Smith cracked his third successive century with a fine 192 and helped his team gain control of the match. It was also the Aussie skipper's seventh Test hundred. The hosts had resumed the second day at their overnight 259 for five. For India, Mohammad Shami was the most successful bowler with four wickets. Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin claimed three wickets each. India were 108 for one at close with Murali Vijay on 55 and Cheteshwar Pujara on 25 at the crease. Shikhar Dhawan was out for 28. India are still trailing by 422 runs. In the meanwhile, Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Saturday broke the world record for most number of stumpings in international cricket after he effected his 134th dismissal. The 33-year-old Dhoni surpassed Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara when he stumped Mitchell Johnson off the bowling of off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Dhoni reached the landmark in his 460th innings while Sangakkara has 133 stumpings from 485 innings.
