In the ICC Cricket World Cup, Glenn Maxwell's maiden ODI hundred today powered Australia to set a victory target of 377 runs for Sri Lanka in a Pool-A match at Sydney. Opting to bat first, the Aussies had a shaky start as they lost their openers early. Skipper Michael Clarke and Steven Smith, then, resurrected the innings, only before Maxwell amassed his first ODI ton off just 51 balls, the second fastest in World Cup history. Maxwell, who made 102, was ably supported by Shane Watson at the end, and both shared 160 runs fot the fifth wicket laying the foundation of a mammoth Aussie total. Watson made a 41-ball 67. At the end, Brad Haddin's fiery innings helped Australia to post 376 for 9. Pacers Lasith Malinga and Thisara Perera bagged 2 wickets each.
