Weather forecasters in Australia are predicting more rain, thunder and hail in Queensland over the next few days and there are worries that the floods could have long term impact on major industries in the area which include mining, farming and tourism. A huge area of Australia's north-eastern State is already inundated and latest predictions say that the level of the river Fitzsroy could swell to more than nine meter. These are now some of Queensland worst floods in living memory. More than two hundred thousand people are thought to be affected in an area larger than France and Germany. At least one person is dead and several others are missing. Rockhampton is the next community in the water's path. The airport and several main roads have been closed and the Royal Australian Air Force has been brought in to help set up emergency accommodation. One government minister has described the floods as a disaster of Biblical proportions.
