Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that international level sports academies were being set up in the state to provide best facilities to budding athletes. Hooda said 171 stadia are being set up in rural areas of the state to groom rural talent and provide them suitable infrastructure. He said, to secure future for the bright players, the state government has appointed 11 sportspersons as DSPs and three per cent reservation has been provided to outstanding sportspersons in police department. Congratulating players from the state for performing well in the ongoing Commonwealth Games he said they have made the country and state proud by winning 11 gold medals. He said, the CWG medal winners and their coaches of the state would be honoured in a state level grand public function to be organized at Sonepat on the occasion of Haryana Day on November 1. The players winning gold, silver and bronze medals would be given cash award of Rs 15 lakh, Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively while their coaches would be honoured with cash prizes of Rs 3 lakh, Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1 lakh. Referring to the earlier criticism regarding the capability of the country in hosting CWG, Hooda said the country is capable of organising the Olympic Games also.
