Joe Root and Ian Bell's knock of 60 each gave the hosts a mid rib in batting while others collapsed pre-maturely. Nathan Lyon scalped 4 wickets, while Johnson, Hazlewood and Starc took two each. Earlier, the day started with visitors batting at overnight score of 264 for 5, they could only add 43 runs before being bowled out.
