Australia defeated Pakistan by 93 runs in the first ODI of the 3-match series at Sharjah yesterday. Opting to bat first, Australia posted 255 for 8 in the stipulated 50 overs. Steven Smith top scored with 101. In reply, Pakistan were bundled out for 162 in 36.3 overs. Mitchell Johnson bagged the maximum of 3 wickets. Umar Akmal was the top scorer for Pakistan with 46. Smith was adjudged man of the match.The second ODI will be played in Dubai on Friday.
