Australia beat India by 48 runs in first test

India have lost the first Cricket Test match played at Adelaide by 48 runs. Chasing a target of 364 runs for victory India faltered at 315 in their second innings. Fighting Century from skipper Virat Kohli and 99 runs from Murli Vijay went in vain as India kept loosing wickets in quick succession. Nathan Lyon was the leading wicket taker as he took 7 wickets for Australia.Earlier today, India had resumed play after the hosts declared their second innings at 290 for 5.The Final Scores:First innings – Australia – 517 for 7 declared; India 444 all out.Second innings – Australia 290 for 5 declared; India 315.
