Australia beat England by 3 wickets in ODI tri-series

Australia beat England by three wickets to enter the cricket tri-series final played at Hobart today. In a high scoring match, England made 303 for 8 in 50 overs, thanks to a strokefull knock of 141 by Ian Bell, ably supported by J E Root with 69 and Moin Ali 46. But the hosts reached the target in 49.5 overs losing seven wickets. Skipper Steve Smith smashed an enthralling hundred as Australia recovered from late jitters. Smith's knock came off 95 deliveries and included half a dozen fours and a towering six. England would now hope for India to lose Monday's match to Australia to make the finals. India have lost both the matches played in the series and will require successive wins against Australia and England to reach the final.
