Australia 116 for 3 at stumps, trail by 75 runs

In reply to India's first innings score of 191, hosts Australia were 116 for 3 at stumps on the opening day of the second test at the Sydney Cricket Ground, SCG.With a trail of 75 runs, Ricky Ponting on 44 and Michael Clarke on 47 are at the crease.Earlier, after opting to bat first, India got off to a calamitous start and were dismissed for 191 in the post-tea session.In-form pacer James Pattinson, who was the man of the match in the last test at Melbourne, made the ball talk right from the start of the Indian innings, getting opener Gautam Gambhir out in the first over.Pattinson, along with fellow pacers Peter Siddle and Ben Hilfenhaus, ripped through the Indian batting order, wrapping the visitors for a modest 191. With a battling 57, Skipper MS Dhoni top scored for the touring Indian side.India, however, looked like getting back into the game, with spearhead pacer Zaheer Khan's exquisite performance with the red cherry.Making full use of the bouncy track, Zaheer bagged 3 wickets in quick succession, when the Aussie score was just 37. Skipper Michael Clarke and Ricky Ponting, then came to the home side's rescue, helping them cross the 100-mark with minimum of fuss. Australia is currently leading the 4-match series, 1-0.
