Aussies 149/0 in reply to India's 161

In reply to India's first innings score of 161, hosts Australia were 149 for no loss at stumps on the opening day of the third cricket test at Perth. David Warner on 104 and Ed Cowan on 40 were at the crease when the stumps were drawn.<br/><br/>Earlier today, Australia's decision to bowl first paid immediate dividend as the Indian batsmen yet again floundered in front of the hosts' accurate and hostile bowling attack.<br/><br/>In form Aussie pacer Ben Hilfenhaus began the proceedings for Australia, bagging the wicket of Opener Virender Sehwag in the third over of the day.<br/><br/>None from the top order could bolster Indian innings after that, as India were bundled up for a modest 161 in the post-tea session. With 44, Virat Kohli top scored for the touring Indian side, while for the Aussies, Ben Hilfenhaus was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets.<br/><br/>Michael Clarke led Australia continued their splendid form with the bat as well, as both the Aussie openers, Warner and Cowan, thrashing the Indian bowlers to all parts of the park. Big Hitter David Warner unleashed a merciless assault on the tourists, scoring the fastest test century by an opener in just 69 balls. The Kangaroos now trail by just 12 runs in the first innings.<br/><br/>Australia is leading the 4-match series, 2-0.<br/><br/>
