New Delhi has said that Australian authorities must act tough against those behind the attacks on Indians . Reacting to the latest attack in which Juspreet Singh was set on fire , the overseas Indian affairs Minister Mr. Vyalar Ravi said that it is unfortunate that things are not moving as they were promised and it is very distrubing for both the people and the government. Mr. Vyalar Ravi said that he wants to make it loud and clear that Australian goverment must take action to prevent such attacks and take action against the culprits behind them. <br/><br/>Earlier the External Afairs Ministry spokesman said that the Indian High Commissioner in Canberra and Counul General in Melbourne are following up the matter vigourously with the Australian authorities. He said that the condition of Jaspreet Singh who received burn injuries in the attack is not critical but he has been hospitalised for treatment. He said that under the circumstances, the media is advised to exercise utmost restraint in reporting on these sensitive issues as it could aggravate the situation and could have a bearing on India's bilateral relations with Australia. <br/><br/>According to Australian media , 29 year old Jaspreet was attacked in Essendon in Melbourne's north-west shortly before 2.00 a.m. (local time). He had just come home from a dinner party with his wife and went to park his car when four men poured fluid over him and set him alight. He is in a stable condition in the Alfred Hospital with 20 per cent burns.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, the government has santioned an ex-gratia payment of 2.5 lakh rupees for the family of Nitin Garg who was stabbed to death in Melbourne earlier this week.
