AUCKLAND CRICKET TEST: Double century partnership between McCullum & Williamson puts NZ in commanding position against India

At Auckland today, fine centuries by Brendon McCullum and Kane Williamson helped New Zeland finish the opening day of the first Cricket Test against India in a strong position. The 221-run fourth wicket stand between the two lifted the hosts from a precarious 30 for three at one stage. At stumps, the hosts were 329 for four in their first innings. Skipper McCullum was at the crease with 143, along with Corey Anderson, who was on 42. Williamson was out for 113. For India, pacers Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma equally shared the four wickets.
