Attacks on India should be dealt with strong security measures: Tharoor

The Union Minister of State for External Affairs Mr Shasi Tharoor today observed that attacks on the country from outside should be dealt with strong security measures, diplomacy and international cooperation. Mr Tharoor was addressing an interaction programme organised by the Kerala Management Association in Kochi today. Referring to the bomb blast in Pune, Mr Tharoor said the overwhelming majority of attacks that took place against the country originated across the border. He however, refused to blame Pakistan as investigations are still on. He said there are several actors in Pakistan who are well beyond the control of the government there. Noting that fool proof security is not possible, Mr Tharoor called for promoting a culture of security within the country, and underlined the need for people to be more attentive on suspicious objects and packages left behind.<br/>
