Attack on Prof Joseph: Kerala HC rejects bail application

The Kerala High Court today rejected a bail application moved by seven persons arrested in connection with the attack on Prof T J Joseph, whose palm was chopped off for preparing a question paper with objectionable reference to Prophet Mohammed. Rejecting the bail application, Justice V Ramkumar described the gruesome attack on the Professor as a terrorist activity.The court observed that it was carried out with an intention to disturb peace and to create a sense of fear amongst the public. The court said that if the bail application is allowed, it could endanger the life of the Professor.
