Attack by suspected militants injures 2 in Assam

In Assam, two persons have been injured when suspected militants lobbed a grenade at Ganeshguri area near the Dispur capital at around 6.10 pm on Tuesday. Inspector General of Police, G. P. Singh who arrived immediately after the blast on the spot along with other senior police officials, said the miscreants lobbed the grenade from a black-coloured Scorpio car near the Dispur branch of the Punjab National Bank. Police have launched a massive search operation in the city to apprehend the culprits. Security has been strengthened in all the entrances of the Guwahati city after the blast. The injured have been rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. No organization has so far claimed responsibility for the blast.
