Atomic Energy Regulatory Board inspecting Koodankulam plant in TN

In Tamil Nadu, Atomic Energy Regulatory Board experts are inspecting the Koodankulam Nuclear power plant as the loading of enriched Uranium fuel into nuclear reactor is over.
A ten member expert committee from the Atomic energy regulatory board is now inspecting the Koodankulam nuclear power plant. With the loading of enriched uranium subassemblies into the nuclear reactor over, the experts will monitor the safety aspects of the nuclear plant. Since several cases have been filed in the Supreme Court regarding the safety aspects of the nuclear power plant, Koodankulam nuclear power plant sources say that power generation will get delayed. Meanwhile the people’s movement against nuclear energy has announced a blockade of Tamil Nadu Assembly on 29th of this month. Already political parties like MDMK, PMK, Viduthalai Chiruthai Katchi have announced their support for the protest.
