Atma Nirbhar Bharat package will have long lasting benefits for AP, says Prashant Lokhande

<span style="color: #222222;">Prashant Lokhande, Commissioner (Panning and Investment) Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh said that the Atma Nirbhar Bharat package announced by the Centre will have long lasting benefits for Arunachal Pradesh. Talking to AIR, Mr. Lokhande said that Agriculture and Horticulture has been given lots of emphasis in this 20 Lakh Crore package, which has the potential to make Arunachal Pradesh the Fruit Bowl of India.<br />''<br />''He said the state government will try to tap all the major sectors announced by the centre under the package. He said the increase in the wages of MGNREGA will increase the income of the rural household in the state. Mr. Lokhande said the Atma Nirbhar package will also help about 40 thousand small businesses in the state.<br />''<br />''Speaking on Arunachal Pradesh's initiative on smooth supply of essential commodities to the remotest part of the state during the lockdown, he said that about 100 air sorties were made with the help of India Air Force and State Helicopters to these areas for supplying rations to the people. He said there has been no issues as of now in regard to supply of essential items and the state has about 40 thousand MT of rice in stock which is sufficient for another 4 months for the state.<br />''<br />''He said Arunachal Pradesh government has implemented almost 100 percent of all the Pradhan Mantry Garib Kalyan Yojana schemes in the state. Mr. Lokhande also added that though the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the economy worldwide, but the state government will not compromise on its basic developmental activities like health, agriculture and social sectors, on the other hand it will try to strengthen these sectors by making significant investments.</span><br />
