Lalitha Babbar of the Railways bagged the gold in the women's 5000 meter race at the 50th National Open Athletic championship which got underway at the Maharaja's College ground in Ernakulam today. Jijimol Jacob of Kerala won the silver, while Vijaymala of Maharashtra settled for bronze. In the men's 5000 meter event, Sunil Kumar of the Police won gold, while Sandeep Kumar of the Railways bagged the silver medal. S Reghunath of the Police won bronze.
