Tamil Nadu government has submitted annual Action Plan for 2015-16 to the Centre with a project expenditure outlay of over 3,200 crore rupees to address severe water supply problem in urban areas of the state under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation.<br/><br/>Atal Mission seeks to ensure basic infrastructure relating to water supply and sewerage connections to all urban households besides ensuring 135 liters per capita per day water supply as a priority. Sources said water supply projects are planned in 11 of 27 Atal Mission cities with an investment of 3,147 crore rupees. <br/><br/>Besides, 34 crore rupees investment has been proposed for providing sewerage network services in Vellankini and 69 crore for developing parks and green spaces in all 27 mission cities. For the five year Mission period till 2019-20, Tamil Naidu Government has proposed a total investment of 49,918 crore rupees.
