In West Bengal, at least eight people were killed in a road accident in Dankuni in Hooghli district this morning. According to official sources, the incident occurred when a lorry hit with a passenger bus. Six persons of the bus died in the spot while two others succumbed to injury in hospital. Twelve injured persons have been admitted to different hospitals. The conditions of some of them are stated to be critical. AIR Kolkata correspondent reports that the passenger bus was coming from Maharashtra to attend Ganga Sagar Mela on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.
