<span style="color: black;">Protests against the military government in Myanmar continued for the 42nd day even as at least 6 people were killed in firing by the security forces in Myanmar on Saturday. In Mandalay three people were killed and several injured when police opened fire on a sit-in protest in Mandalay, reports Reuters citing eyewitnesses. One person was killed in Pyay and two in Mandalay due to police firing on the protestors.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">More than 70 people have been killed and over 2000 arrested since the protests erupted after the military take over of government in Myanmar on February 1 deposing the civilian leader State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">In view of the increasingly violent repression of the protest in Myanmar, the UK government has told its citizens that they should  leave Myanmar. The UK Foreign Office on Friday said in a statement that political tension and unrest is widespread since the military takeover and level of violence is increasing.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">The US State Department has said that it is trying to contact Aung San Suu Kyi after two officials of her National League for Democracy (NLD) died in military custody over the past week. The US state department spokesperson Ned Price has said that the US has tried to make contact with Aung San Suu Kyi but the military government has rebuffed its efforts. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">In the meanwhile, the military government reiterated its charge that Aung San Suu Kyi was involved in accepting a bribe of USD 6 lakh and gold based on the testimony of the former Yangon Chief Minister U Pyo Min Thein. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">Earlier, the military government had charged Aung San Suu Kyi with illegal import of communication equipment and violation of the covid 19 related restrictions.</span><br />''
