In China, at least 43 people were killed and 53 others injured when a passenger plane crashed with 96 people on board in northwestern Heilongjiang Province last night. Provincial government officials said that the ill-fated aircraft of the Henan Airlines overshot the fog-shrouded runway when it was to land at the Lindu airport in Yichun and burst into flames. State-run Xinhua news agency reported that 43 bodies have been recovered from the wreckage of the plane. Another 53 injured passengers have been hospitalised. Meanwhile, officials of the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer have been sent to China to help the investigation into the crash of one of their passenger jets in the north east of the country. Meanwhile, the flight recorder of the plane has been found. At least 42 people were killed after the passenger plane crash-landed in the northern province of Heilongjiang yesterday.
