In Pakistan, a suicide bomber detonated his explosives-laden car in a packed market in the North West Frontier Province today killing 32 people and injuring over 60.The explosion occurred in Farooq-e-Azam Chowk, the main commercial area of Charsadda town, shortly after 4.20 pm local time. The area was crowded at the time of the blast. North West Frontier Province Senior Minister Bashir Bilour told reporters that thirty-two people were killed and over 60 injured were brought to a state-run hospital in the provincial capital of Peshawar. Several women and children were among the dead and injured. State-run PTV reported that 25 bodies were received at the main hospital in Charsadda. Shafqat Malik, the chief of Peshawar's bomb disposal squad, said the car used in the attack was packed with 50 to 60 kg of explosives, including artillery shells.This was the third consecutive attack in NWFP since Sunday. Fifteen people were killed in two suicide attacks on the outskirts of Peshawar over the past two days.Today's attack was the latest in a string of strikes that have killed more than 300 people over the past six weeks in the country.
