In the United States, at least 29 people were injured in an explosion in Chelsea district of New York City today. Officials said, the blast took place hours before world leaders arrive for the high-level UN General Assembly session. The spot of the explosion is a busy residential and commercial area frequented by tourists and city residents. New York City Mayor, Bill de Blasio, said the explosion was as an intentional act, but said there is no evidence at this point of a terror link.<br/><br/>The explosion comes just hours after a pipe bomb exploded in a New Jersey town, shortly before thousands of runners were to participate in a charity race nearby. <br/><br/>A White House official said, President Barack Obama has been appraised of the explosion. Security is already tight in the city as nearly 190 world leaders, including Mr Obama, will arrive in the city for the week-long high-level annual UN General Assembly session beginning tomorrow.
