At least 27 workers have fallen ill today following leakage of methane gas at the Durgapur Steel plant in West Bengal. <br/><br/>The incident happened when the lethal gas leaked out from furnas number 2 of the plant. <br/><br/>The gas also spread inside the casting area. The convenor of the Durgapur Steel plant Mr. B.R. Kanungo said that the matter was being investigated. <br/><br/>The injured include five women workers and three permanent workers. <br/><br/>The affected has been shifted to Durgapur Steel plant hospital for treatment.
