Senegal's government says, at least 22 people were killed and 87 injured in a fire while attending a Muslim spiritual retreat in the eastern part of the country. 20 of the injured are in a serious state.<br/><br/>Government spokesman Seydou Gueye said today that several others were wounded in the fire yesterday in Medina Gounass village. President Macky Sall offered condolences to victims' families. <br/><br/>Thousands of Muslim men from Senegal, Guinea and other West African countries meet annually in Medina Gounass for the spiritual retreat.
