In Afghanistan, at least 20 people were killed and 45 others injured in a bomb blast outside the Supreme Court in the centre of capital, Kabul, today. <br/><br/>Government officials said an apparent suicide bomber targeted the car park of the court compound as employees leaving their offices at the end of the working day. <br/><br/>The Ministry of Health, which reported the casualty numbers, said the figure was expected to rise. <br/><br/>There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, which follows a number of deadly bombings by the Taliban and other militants in recent months.<br/><br/>The UN says civilian casualties in Afghanistan have hit a new high, with 3,498 civilians killed in 2016.
