Local Afghan militias commonly operate in remote areas, and are under the command of either the defence or interior ministries. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">A spokesman for the governor of Takhar province said that the attack apparently targeted a local militia commander who escaped unharmed.
