At least 15 die after torrential rain wrecks havoc in China

In China, at least 15 persons have died and thousands of people evacuated after torrential rain and flood wrecked havoc in central and southwest part of the country. In Hunan province alone, six people were killed and over seven lakh people affected. The rain had inflicted direct economic losses of one billion yuan in Hunan province. Xinhua news agency reported that a rain-triggered landslide disrupted the Sichuan-Guizhou Railway in southwest China's Guizhou Province at around 8 am today. Over 300 workers with seven excavators are battling to repair the railway.
