At least 13 killed in serial blasts in Iraq

At least 13 people have been killed in a series of bomb attacks across Iraq. Local officials said a lorry with explosives blew up at a police station near the central city of Ramadi, killing seven policemen. In southern Iraq, a bomb planted on a bus killed three people in the province of Qadisiya. In Baghdad, a series of bombs killed at least three people. Violence in Iraq saw a spike in August, with the highest number of violent deaths for more than a year. Government figures showed that 393 civilians were killed in August along with about 60 police officers and soldiers.
