In Iraq, at least 12 security personnel were killed and 23 others injured in suicide bomb attacks in Tikrit. According to Iraqi Police and military, three militants rammed their explosives laden vehicles into a check point and then detonated a bomb at the entrance to the city. Four police officers were killed in the attack. One militant was also killed. In another attack, 7 kilometers to the city limits, eight members of the security forces were killed and 23 others injured when two other militants detonated the explosives in their pickup truck. No Group has claimed the responsibility for the attack. Tikrit was retaken from Islamic State in April 2015.
