The Prime Minister directed the authorities concerned to take steps to provide adequate treatment to the injured persons.AIR correspondent Senthil Ranjan reports from Dhaka that “According to eye witness accounts, the train accident at Narasinghdi occurred as the Chittagong bound intercity train 'Mahangar Godhuli' which was moving at high speed collided head on with the Dhaka bound train 'Chattala Express which had slowed down close to the station. Several coaches of the trains were hit by the impact of the collision and jumped the track leaving behind a mangled heap of damaged compartments which resulted in casualties and several people being injured.
