At 24/1, India to resume 1st innings

India were 24 for one at the closing of the opening day of the second Cricket Test at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, in reply to England all out for a paltry 221. India lost opener Abhinav Mukund on the first ball of James Anderson. However, experienced duo of Rahul Dravid's 7 not out and V V S Laxman's 13 not out steered the visitors to 24 for one at draw of stumps. Earlier put into bat, England team was all out for 221 runs in their first innings. The hosts were gasping at 124 for eight before Broad with 64 runs off 66 balls guided England to a respectable total. For India Praveen Kumar, Ishant Sharma and S Sreesanth took three wickets each while Harbhajan Singh took one.
