At 16,749, Sensex turns green in afternoon trade

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange declined 80 points, or 0.5 per cent, to 16,659 in early trade, today, as funds and retail investors booked profits, a day of ahead of the Reserve Ban's monetary policy review.Later, after moving between negative and positive territory, in volatile trade, the Sensex stood 10 points, or 0.1 percent in the positive zone, at 16,749, in afternoon deals. The Sensex had gained over 285 points in the past two trading sessions.The Japanese stock market was was marginally in the red, today. The bourses in China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore are closed for a holiday.
