Astronomers discover darkest known planet

Astronomers have discovered a distant planet which they claim is the darkest known planet. The planet, a gas giant, has been named as TrES-2b. An international team says that the exoplanet reflects less than one per cent of light, which makes it blacker than coal or any planet or moon in our solar system. The discovery has been published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
