Assocham puts Jharkhand fifth from bottom in implementation of MoUs

A survey by ASSOCHAM has put Jharkhand fifth from the bottom in implementation of MoUs while it stands in the top five in signing MoU with investors in different sectors. This was disclosed by Assocham Secretary General D.S. Rawat while speaking to reporters at Ranchi. A team of Assocham comprising Mr. Rawat and Assocham President Ravi Wig was in Ranchi for two days. They met Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda and presented the report about 'Cluster Development in Jharkhand for Inclusive Growth'. Assocham also suggested acquiring barren lands to develop land banks in the state, which could be used for developing clusters. Assocham is going to organize 'Jharkhand calling' summit next year. It has suggested to the Chief Minister to formulate new industrial policies as at present Jharkhand is following old policies. Assocham has also suggested formulation of agriculture policies to promote organic farming as Jharkhand's share in organic farming is zero.
