In the Assembly elections to four states, the BJP is well ahead in
Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan with a neck and neck fight with Congress
in Chhatisgarh. The trends available indicate a close three corner
contest in Delhi with Aam Aadmi Party giving a tough fight to BJP
placing the Congress to the third place. Following this, Delhi Chief
Minister Shiela Dikshit has tendered her resignation.
In Chhatisgarh, Congress is ahead leading in 49 seats followed by
BJP in 39 and BSP two. The BJP seems to wrest power from Congress in
Rajasthan and retain Madhya Pradesh. Delhi seems to be heading for a
fractured verdict.
BJP and Congress have shared the first two results that have come in
from Madhya Pradesh. In Kotma, Congress Candidate, Manoj Aggarwal has won by a margin of over 1,500 votes. In Anooppur, Ramlal Rautel of BJP declared elected by over 10 thousand votes.
According to latest trends, in Madhya Pradesh, BJP is leading in 143 constituencies, Congress-65, BSP -5 and others four. State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan is leading in Vidisha by 9000 votes over his nearest
rival.
Commerce and Industry Minister, Kailash Vijay Vargiya is leading in Mhow. Agriculture Minister Ramkrishna Kusmaria is leading in Rajnagar Assembly Constituency.
The first three results from Rajasthan have gone to BJP. Party candidate Gurjant Singh has defeated his nearest Congress rival Jagdish Chander by about 4000 votes. In Ratangarh constituency Rajkumar Rinva of BJP has defeated his nearest Pusram Godura of Congress rival by a margin over 20,700 votes. In Pindwara-Abu constituency Samaram of BJP has defeated his nearest rival of Ganga Ben Garasiya of Congress of about 30000 votes.
The tally is BJP has won three seats and leading in 142. Congress is leading in 31, NPP- eight, BSP- 2 and others – 12. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is leading in Sardarpura and BJP State President Vasundhara Raje in Jhalarapatan constituency. National Peoples Party Convenor Kirori Lal Meena is also leading in Lalsot constituency.
In Delhi, BJP is leading in 32 Aam Aadmi Party – 23, Congress 11, BSP-2 and others two. AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal is leading over his Congress rival and Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit. BJP's Vijender Gupta is at third position.
In the fifth round of the counting of votes in Patparganj seat, Manish Sisodia of AAP is ahead of his BJP rival by 5,000 votes. In Trilokpuri constituency, AAP candidate is leading over his BSP rival by 8 thousand votes. In this constituency, 244 voters have exercised their option for None of the Above (NOTA) finding none of the contestants worth voting.
In Krishnanagar constituency in East Delhi, BJP Chief Ministerial candidate Dr Harsh Vardhan is leading by 10
thousand 500 votes after the fourth round of counting of votes over AAP
