Campaigning for the Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana ends this evening.
A series of rallies, public meetings and road shows were held in both the states yesterday, with national and regional parties making last ditch efforts to woo the voters.
Top leaders of various parties will be seen addressing rallies and road shows on the final leg of electioneering today.
The polling in the two states will be held on Wednesday, with the counting of votes slated for Sunday.
Security across Maharashtra has been intensified. In several areas, security forces have conducted flag march to instill sense of security among electorates. Checking of vehicles has been increased and directions have been issued for strict implementation of model code of conduct.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will conclude BJP's campaigning by addressing three rallies in Palghar, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurga districts today. Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi have already concluded their campaigning for party nominees.
Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray will address three rallies today in Dhule and Jalgaon districts. NCP Chief Sharad Pawar will be seen campaigning in Pune and Ahmednagar districts.
Meanwhile, unaccounted cash worth more than Rs 2.50 crore have, so far, been seized across the state. 700 cases of violation of model code of conduct have been reported, of which FIRs have been lodged 600 cases.
In Haryana, leaders of different parties are leaving no stone unturned to woo voters on the last day of campaigning. BJP's star campaigners like Rajnath Singh, Simriti Irani, Sushma Swaraj, Navjot Sidhu, Rao Inderjit Singh, Krishanpal Gujjar, Kailash Vijarvargiye and Congress leaders like former Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dixit and Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda will be addressing a series of public meetings and road shows across the state today. Leaders from other States will have to leave Haryana by 6 p.m in the evening.
