Assembly of Mizoram has established a reputation for smooth conduct of business: Prez Kovind

President Ram Nath Kovind today addressed the special session of Mizoram Legislative Assembly convened in honour of his maiden visit to the state. In his address, he said for a short time in India's history there was a misconception about the North East being a 'frontier', But far from that it is at the heart of an ancient trade corridor. <br/><br/>South Asia and South East Asia have been perceived as a composite trading region with cultural similarities and Mizoram is right at the centre of this area. Mr Kovind congratulates the House members for maintaining a reputation for smooth conduct of business in the house for the past 45 years. He said, the Assembly is a role Model for India's democracy and for how a legislation should function. <br/><br/>He also promised a second visit to the state, and says he was very touched by the friendly, easy going and yet very disciplined manner in which the people of the city greeted him on his arrival yesterday. This is the second time India's President has addressed Mizoram Legislative Assembly session, the first was by Dr. APJ Kalam on 24th Sept 2005. The President left for Nagaland this afternoon
