Assembly Elections: Political Leaders addresses rallies as campaigning for forthcoming General Election intensifies

In Manipur, the election campaigning for the forthcoming General Election to Manipur Legislative Assembly has intensified with leaders of political parties attending numbers of public rallies. For the BJP party, the  Union minister and party leaders Smriti Zubin Irani and John Barla addressed election rallies in different districts today while Congress leader Jairam Ramesh attended election rallies at three locations in Imphal.<br />''<br />''The elections in Manipur will be held in two phases. The voting for the first phase will be held on February 28 will March 5 be the date of voting for the second phase. A total of 265 candidates including fifteen women candidates and 30 Independent candidates are in fray in sixty assembly constituencies in the State.<br />''<br />''Congress leader Jairam Ramesh and All India Congress Committee in-charge Bhakta Charan Das who are in Manipur for election campaign also attended three election rallies including a CPI candidate in Imphal today. The CPI is a part of Manipur Progressive Secular Alliance, a pre-poll alliance led by Congress formed to fight against BJP in the upcoming elections.<br />''<br />''The Union minister of state and BJP leader John Barla also attended election campaigns held in Tamenglong districts of Manipur. Elections for three assembly constituencies of Tamenglong district will be held in the second phase. <br />
