Heavy polling was reported from Nagaland and Meghalaya in the assembly elections.

In Nagaland, 90 percent of the voters cat their votes before polling ended this evening. Polling was held to elect 59 members of the 60-member state assembly.

In Meghalaya, 72.8 percent of voters exercised their franchise by 4 PM this evening to elect a new assembly.
