The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC has issued notices to Tamil Nadu government over the reported brutal assault on an indebted farmer by bank officials and police in the state. Taking suo motu cognizance of the media report, NHRC issued notices to the secretary and DG Police of the State and sought a report within two weeks. <br/><br/>The media reports said that officials of a private bank with the assistance of police came to seize the tractor of a farmer and brutally attacked him and forcibly took him to a police vehicle, as they wanted to recover the money he had borrowed.
