In Assam, the situation is limping back to normal in Dhubri town. State Home Secretary GD Tripathi said that the district administration relaxed curfew between 5 AM and 5 PM on Saturday.Curfew was re-imposed at 5 PM as a precautionary measure.Additional security forces were deployed for peaceful celebration of Eid-ul Azha.Thousands of people offered prayers at Idgahs and Mosques to restore peace and harmony at Dhubri along with rest of the state.People from different communities greeted each other. Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Kumud Chandra Kalita said that six companies of Para-military forces are being engaged along with one company of Rapid Action Force.Two columns of army are also staging flag march. Security forces picked -up 16 persons last night for questioning in connection with violence incidents.As the situation has improved, district administration will hold peace meeting at vulnerable areas involving people from different communities.
