In Assam, the Jnanpith Award winner, eminent litterateur Dr Mamoni Raisom Goswami is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of the Gauhati Medical College Hospital. The 68-year-old litterateur was admitted to the hospital after she complained of respiratory problems on Saturday night. Doctors attending her said she is suffering from pneumonia with several complications. Her condition is stated to be critical and she is on ventilator support. Senior doctors from several departments are monitoring and assessing her state of health on a regular basis.
