In Assam, the situation has improved in the violence hit Kokrajhar, Chirang and Dhubri district. Day curfew has been relaxed in the three districts for varying duration.But patrolling by the security forces are on as precautionary measures. So far 1 lakh 60 thousand people have returned homes and administrations have closed 101 camps. Assam government has ordered a judicial enquiry into the Bodoland Territorial Area District, BTAD and Dhubri district violence. CBI is also investigating seven cases. Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi urged the Union Home Minister to ensure safety of the people of Assam who are residing in other parts of the country. He also asked the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra and Karnataka to take all measures for the security of the people of Assam after incident of violence has been reported. UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde will visit Kokrajhar and Dhubri district tomorrow. Official sources said that they are likely to visit four relief camps and meet the people who are staying in the camps. Both the leaders will also take stock of the relief and rehabilitation measures that have taken by the administration.
